Tver is a one province minor located in the Russian region. It is surrounded by Novgorod and Muscovy, and has a core on one of the latter's provinces.

Through conquest and diplomacy Russia has managed to transform from a mere settlement into a dominant principality. After several eastern expeditions the Mongol hordes have finally been subdued and a centralized Russian state, ruled under the suzerainty of the Tsar, is emerging. Influences from Western Europe are helping us modernize and reform our nation and Western style of education is being adopted.

Tver starts in an extremely poor position as an one province minor landlocked between two much stronger Russian powers, Muscovy and Novgorod, both of whom are hostile and have claims on Tver's only province. Muscovy will warn Tver several months into the game, and invade it once it's done conquering Novgorod. The player will have to secure some strong alliances in order to survive. Make sure a Diplomat advisor is available and hire him, then start working on relations with Poland, later swapping the Diplomat for a Statesman in order to secure the alliance that much faster. Golden Horde and Scandinavian nations are also good secondary focuses for an alliance.

Once Muscovy is done with Novgorod it will declare on Tver. Move armies out of the danger zone into Lithuanian territory while Poland, Lithuania and their vassals fight their way through Muscovy. Weakened after the Novgorod campaign and possibly also under horde attack, Muscovy will be easily defeated by the Polish-Lithuanian forces. Use the army to siege any provinces once the Muscovite army is beaten. After peace with Muscovy, claiming as many new provinces as available, possibly forcing Muscovy to release a vassal or two, turn Tver's sights to Novgorod. It'll be weakened and most likely lacking any allies of note, so an easy target. The best option now is to vassalize Novgorod.

Once the truce with Muscovy is over, it will likely attack to reclaim its cores, but Novgorod and Tver's Polish-Lithuanian allies can easily deal with Muscovite aggression now. Feed Novgorod's cores back to it and annex it. Now Tver is the dominant Russian power, so just follow the standard Russian major strategy towards forming Russia.
