Trade nodes are 76 static locations on the map where trade can be conducted utilizing merchants. Trade nodes do not represent specific provinces but rather regions. Controlling more territory in a region, sending merchants to a trade node or sending fleets to maritime trade nodes increases a nation's trade power in that node.
- Key difference from EU3: trade nodes are not specific provinces, unlike EU3's Centers of Trade. They cannot be built or destroyed. Nor can they be directly conquered.
The value of trade nodes changes over time as the provinces within them are improved during the game.
