If the progress reaches 100%, the disaster will start with the following event:

Msg event.pngThe $ESTATE_NOBLES$ Seize Power

$MONARCH$ has allowed the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ of $COUNTRY$ to grow too powerful and now they have made their move. Exercising the wide range of privileges and rights granted to them, they have effectively seized the reins of government and turned the $MONARCHTITLE$ into little more than their puppet.

If this country

  • is not tribe, an elective monarchy, an Ottoman sultanate, a Prussian monarchy, a Celestial Empire, a Shogunate, a Daimyo or an independant Daimyo

    • then it gets the modifier “Junker Dominance”
  • is an Ottoman Government
    • then it gets the modifier “Ümera Dominance”
  • is the Shogunate, a Daimyo or an independant Daimyo
    • then it gets the modifier “Dominance of the Bushi”
      • … until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision with the following effects:
        • Legitimacy.png −0.5 yearly legitimacy,
        • Autonomy.png +0.03 monthly autonomy change,
        • Infantry cost.png +10% infantry cost,
        • Cavalry cost.png +25% cavalry cost.
  • is a celestial empire
    • then if the country is the emperor of China
      • then it loses Meritocracy.png −15 meritocracy.
    • then it gets the modifier “Shizu Dominance” until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision with the following effects:
      • Imperial authority growth modifier.png −5% imperial authority growth modifier,
      • Meritocracy.png −1 yearly meritocracy,
      • Autonomy.png +0.03 monthly autonomy change,
      • Infantry cost.png +10% infantry cost,
      • Cavalry cost.png +25% cavalry cost.

[Root.GetName] will now be controlled by the Nobility until the 'Curtail the Nobility' decision is taken.

While the disaster is ongoing the country gets:

  • National tax modifier.png −25% national tax modifier,
  • Trade power.png −25% global trade power,
  • Trade efficiency.png −25% trade efficiency.

End[edit]

The disaster can only be ended by the following decision.[3]

Execute decision.pngCurtail the Nobility

Our government is run by and for the aristocracy. To adopt a more centralized administration we will need to curtail their power and privileges.

Potential Requirements

One of the following must be true for this country:

Allow

This country:

  • has a stability of at least 1.
  • does not have rebel armies in its provinces.
  • does not have rebel controlled provinces.
  • has a Nobility estate which influence is lower than 60.

Effects

This country:[5]

  • loses Icon stability.png 3 stability,
  • loses Prestige.png 25 prestige.

If this country:

  • is a noble republic
  • has the modifier “Nobility in Power”, “Junker Dominance”, “Ümera Dominanz”, “Shizu Dominance” or “Dominance of the Bushi”
    • then it is removed.

Then the following event is triggered.

Msg event.pngThe $ESTATE_NOBLES$ Curtailed

We have managed to limit the influence of the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ to tolerable levels. $ESTATE_NOBLES$ privileges have been revoked and their properties reduced. The $ESTATE_NOBLES$ themselves have grudgingly agreed that the $MONARCHTITLE$ is the undisputable leader of this country and the stamp formerly used by the $ESTATE_NOBLES$ in place of [Root.Monarch.GetHerHis] signature has been destroyed.
